This Legal Policy outlines the legal obligations, qualifications, and compliance requirements applicable to Iluvo Beauty (“we”, “us”, “our”) when providing beauty, wellness, and aesthetic treatments. This policy ensures transparency and adherence to local authority regulations, industry standards, and UK consumer law.
This policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Salon Safety Procedures.
1. Compliance With Wandsworth Council Special Treatments Licensing
We operate in accordance with the requirements set by Wandsworth Council for businesses offering special treatments under the London Local Authorities Act 1991.
Where applicable, we ensure that all therapists providing licensable treatments hold approved and recognised qualifications listed in the Wandsworth Council Special Treatments: Accepted Qualifications document.
1.1 Accepted Qualifications
All therapists delivering special treatments—such as massage, advanced skincare, electrical treatments, laser/IPL, and holistic therapies—must hold qualifications that are recognised by Wandsworth Council. These may include, but are not limited to:
VTCT (Levels 2–4)
ITEC diplomas
CIBTAC Level 2–4 diplomas
CIDESCO certifications
ABT or BABTAC accredited training (where accepted by the council)
Laser/IPL qualifications that meet council-issued competency requirements
We ensure that:
All practitioners meet or exceed the minimum qualification standards
Certificates can be supplied to the licensing authority on request
Only approved practitioners deliver licensable services
All required Special Treatment Licences are kept current and displayed where required.
1.2 Staff Registration & Licensing
Where required:
Individual therapists are registered with Wandsworth Council
The salon maintains a valid Special Treatments Premises Licence
All treatments are carried out in accordance with council-issued licence conditions.
1.3 Inspection & Compliance
We comply with:
Random and scheduled inspections by Wandsworth Council
All hygiene, conduct, and treatment conditions in the licence
Requirements regarding recordkeeping, signage, equipment safety, and infection control.
2. Consumer Rights Act 2015 – Part 1, Chapter 2 (Services)
We fully comply with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including duties relating to service quality, fairness, and transparency.
2.1 Reasonable Care and Skill (Section 49)
All treatments are performed:
By qualified, licensed therapists
With professional skill and hygiene
In accordance with manufacturer and industry standards
2.2 Information Binding by Law (Section 50)
Any information we provide—on our website, verbally, or in writing—forms part of the contract and will be honoured.
2.3 Price Transparency (Section 51)
If a price is not agreed beforehand, a reasonable price will apply.
2.4 Services Performed Within a Reasonable Time (Section 52)
Treatments are carried out within a reasonable and professionally appropriate timeframe.
2.5 Client Remedies
If services fall below required standards, clients may be entitled to:
Repeat performance
A partial refund
A price reduction
These rights do not apply where:
Client leaves facility without expressing dissatisfaction of service, quality.
Medical information was withheld
Aftercare advice was not followed
Results vary naturally due to individual factors.
3. Professional Standards & Safety
We adhere to all relevant UK laws and guidelines including:

Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
Local authority environmental health requirements
Equipment sterilisation and infection-control procedures.
3.2 Insurance
We maintain:
Public Liability Insurance
Professional Treatment Liability Insurance
Product Liability Insurance
All policies cover the treatments we provide.
4. Client Responsibilities
Clients must:
Provide accurate medical, allergy, and skin information before treatment
Follow all aftercare instructions
Attend appointments in a fit and safe condition
Adhere to age requirements for certain treatments
Failure to comply may affect treatment suitability and consumer remedies.
5. Limitations of Liability
We are not legally responsible for:
Reactions caused by undisclosed medical conditions
Problems arising from failure to follow aftercare instructions
Personal belongings lost or damaged in the salon
Client misuse of products or advice after treatment
Natural variations in treatment results
Nothing in this policy limits statutory rights under UK law.
6. Complaints Procedure
To ensure fairness and transparency:
Complaints must be reported within 48 hours
Evidence may be required (photos, appointment details)
We will investigate and respond within a reasonable timeframe
Remedies will align with the Consumer Rights Act 2015
7. Legal Jurisdiction
This policy is governed by the laws of England & Wales.
Any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the UK courts.
